HOW IT BEGAN...

As a young dancer, Sheri Metcalf learned the importance of reaching out for community support to promote worthy causes. Under the guidance of Cathy Gillespie, Sheri participated in the “Kick for Kare” program every year, helping to raise thousands of dollars for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Arnold Palmer Hospital. When Sheri’s mother, Diane Marie Corino, lost her battle to Lymphoma Cancer, Sheri was able to use the knowledge and experience she learned as a young dancer to coordinate community events in support of the Lymphoma Cancer Society. Every year, Sheri produces “The Nutty Nutcracker” which provides a vehicle for the community to not only participate monetarily in important causes but also gain the knowledge to understand the continued need still out there. This year, Xtreme Dance Studio is honored to support Base Camp which serves children and families affected by cancer.  Sheri Metcalf along with the Xtreme Company performers and guest artists extend their appreciation for your support of our Nutty Nutcracker benefit production. ​
